Chamber Music Program
Sunday, June 7 - Saturday, June 13
String Players
The Chamber Music Program consists of the Festival Chamber Music Program, for older and more advanced students, and the Debut Chamber Music Program, open to qualified string players participating in the Debut Orchestra.
Pianists
Pianists (limited space available) may also participate in the Chamber Music Program. Pianists will participate in the chamber music ensemble only, and will not participate in string master classes or in orchestral activities. Acceptance is based on audition.
Auditions
All Chamber Music students are selected by audition. Students in these ensembles must demonstrate ability and maturity in order to be eligible.
Audition requirements:
- String players: scale and solo piece of the student’s choice, sightreading
- Pianists: 2 contrasting works (memorization not required), sightreading
Students participating in a Chamber Music Ensemble will:
- Rehearse daily (six rehearsals total)
- Receive daily coaching with a faculty coach
- Perform in the Saturday afternoon Chamber Music Concert
Schedule*
Sunday, June 7
- 1:30 - 3:30 p.m. Opening Remarks, Ensemble Assignment, Rehearsal, Coaching (45 minutes)
Monday, June 8 - Friday, June 12
- 1:15 - 5:40 p.m. Rehearsal and Classes
Saturday, June 13
- 1:00 p.m. Final Student Concert, followed by a reception
* Exact rehearsal and coaching times may vary. Debut Orchestra students participating in the Chamber Music Program will have rehearsals and coachings at a time that does not interfere with the Debut Orchestra schedule.
Tuition
- $245 for string players in Festival Chamber Music Program
- $245 for all Pianists
The deadline for registration is June 5, 2015
All tuition payments should be paid in full by June 6, 2015
